In the centre of Santa Giuletta, overlooking Piazza Sandro Pertini, next to the Museo della Bambola, there is a place that invites silence and reflection: the Museo dei Combattenti e dei Reduci ‘Agostino Setti’. A small but intense space of memory, where local history meets the great history of the 20th century, and where every object on display represents a fragment of courage, pain and hope.

A museum not to forget
Strongly desired by the Municipality of Santa Giuletta, this museum is dedicated to the partisans, war veterans and all those who, in the wars of the last century, fought – and often sacrificed their lives – for an idea of freedom and justice. Named after Agostino Setti, the museum is a sober and respectful space, built not to spectacularise the war, but to transmit the memory to future generations.
Objects, faces, symbols: history told through signs
The museum collects images, helmets, coats of arms, military accessories and above all visual and emotional testimonies. Each item is part of a collective story: that of people of bygone days who experienced the hardships of war and knew how to turn pain into teaching. The display cases hold symbols full of meaning, which speak of marches, imprisonment, trenches, but also of pride and dignity.
It is a museum that does not need large dimensions to convey its message: it does so with authenticity and respect, in a context that also values the human and civic dimension of remembrance.
