Godiasco, a village known for its religious and popular traditions, is home to a special museum, where art, devotion and the memory of the territory meet in an evocative setting. The museum itinerary unfolds inside a portion of the Godiasco Mill, a historical structure that is a symbol of the village’s community life, now home to an exhibition that blends contemporary art and popular culture.
The crib as an art form and tradition
The heart of the museum is the collection of around 80 nativity scenes, of different sizes and origins: from Italian regions to representations made in other countries of the world. During the Christmas period, the display is enriched with lights and themed decorations, providing visitors with a warm and engaging atmosphere.
The dioramas on display carefully reproduce episodes from the Gospel, transforming the visit into a spiritual and artistic journey. Alongside these, the artist Bedaglia proposes a series of miniatures that narrate the places and architecture of Godiasco: from Piazza Cagnoni to the Romanesque church, up to the Pieve di San Zaccaria and the picturesque Via del Molino. A work of great detail, capable of rendering faithful glimpses of the town in artistic form.
Art and memory in a symbolic place
The presence of the large mill, an element identifying the village, makes the museum even more representative of the deep bond between Godiasco and its local history. The collection of cribs, combined with artistic representations of the village, makes it a place where contemporary art and popular culture come together, celebrating collective memory through beauty.
