Where to ski in Oltrepò Pavese

When thinking of ski sports, the most renowned ski resorts in the Alps usually come to mind, but what if you pointed your navigator to other areas instead? Start with ViviOltrepò the adventure of discovering where to ski in Oltrepò Pavese.
Skiing is like dancing on snow ❄️, with the fluidity of movement and the thrill of adrenalin as you hurtle down a slope.
All the tracks left by the skis look like beautiful embroidery. This is the magic of the snow, and you can breathe it in this part of the Ligurian Apennines that runs through the territories of our Oltrepò.
⛷️Dove are the ski slopes in Oltrepò Pavese?
Where can you practice downhill skiing and other snow activities? Let’s find out.
Skiing at Passo Penice
⛰️ The Penice Pass is located in the mountainous area of Oltrepò Pavese (yes, there are not only hills, in Oltrepò 😉), on the border between Lombardy and Emilia Romagna, so that for those who live in Piacenza, it is possible to reach the Penice Pass using the buses that normally pass through Bobbio. For those arriving by car from Pavia or from the motorways, the final stretch is the SP461 to Passo Penice.
The village of Romagnese is about 11 km from the Penice Pass, which is 1,149 metres high (while Monte Penice is 1,460 metres high).
Ski School
This resort has a ski school with over 40 years of experience behind it: Scuola Italiana Sci Passo Penice.
The school organises ski courses for adults and children, with individual or group lessons and also for people with disabilities.
There is the possibility of skiing both during the day ☀️ and at night 🌛, thanks to a well-equipped lighting system.
It must be an incredible experience to ski after dark! 🌄⛷️

You can also do competitive ski training on a Giant and Slalom course, complete with stopwatch and 📹 video footage to help you improve. Great!
And if the ski slopes aren’t enough, at the Alpine Ski School you can also dabble on the bobsleigh run and for the kids, there are inflatables – lots more fun in the snow! 🛷
Everyone can therefore have fun at Passo Penice, both beginners and experts, young and old.
Skiing at Pian del Poggio
⛷️A Pian del Poggio, a small and interesting tourist resort in the Oltrepò Pavese region, the Pian del Poggio Bike and Ski Resort is located at 1,335 metres in the municipality of Santa Margherita di Staffora.
🚠 The two-seater chairlift takes you up to Monte Chiappo, which is almost 1,700 m!

🎿 You can practise on the ski school slope and then dabble on the blue (approx. 2 km) and red (approx. 600 m) slopes, or go snowshoeing. All equipment can be hired on site.
For the children, next to the school field, there is also a toboggan run. How to make them happy!
There is no shortage of refreshments, because we all know: skiing makes you hungry! 🍖
Of course, as with all ski resorts, the opening depends on weather conditions, so it is always a good idea to contact the lifts before setting off.
Oltrepò Pavese never ceases to amaze, never, in any season. 🌸🌞🍂🌨️
